Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR)
Admission Criteria
All high school graduates and anyone under the age of 21 must meet one of the following criteria to be admitted to any one of the six Kansas Regents Universities (Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University, University of Kasnas, and Wichita State University):
- an ACT score of at least 21,
- rank in the top third on their high school graduating class,
- a grade point average of at least a "C" (2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) in Qualified Admissions Curriculum
Qualified Admissions Curriculum
English
- English 1
- English 2
- English 3
- English 4 / English 4 College Prep
Natural Science
Required to complete a minimum of 3 units from the following list:
- Integrated Science or Earth/Space Science (Integrated Science counts for graduating classes 2008 – 2010. Class of 2011 must have Earth/Space Science)
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Advanced Biology
- College Biology
- Physics
At least one unit must be Chemistry or Physics.
Mathematics
Required to complete a minimum of 3 units from the following list:
- Algebra 1
- Algebra 2/Geometry
- Algebra 3/Geometry/Trig
- Geometry
- College Algebra
- Calculus
Social Sciences
- ½ unit of World History
- 1 unit of U.S. History
- ½ unit of U.S. Government
- 1 additional unit of Social Science credit
Computer Technology
Foreign Language
Foreign Language is NOT required; however, 2 units are recommended for Qualified Admissions.
